German WGK (Water Hazard Class) according to AwSV

With the publication of the AwSV (Ordinance on facilities for the handling of substances hazardous to water) in the Bundesanzeiger of 21 April 2017, the new regulation, which was adopted in 2014, but not approved by the Bundesrat (Federal Council) for a long time, will now enter into force this year, in all parts, no later than 1 August 2017.

An important update to the CLP: the 10th ATP

The 10th ATP of CLP

On the 4th of May 2017, Regulation (EU) n. 2017/776 has been published on the Official Journal of the European Union (L 116). This regulation, also known as the 10th ATP, updates Regulation 1272/2008 (CLP). This regulation updates Annex VI of regulation 1272/2008 by updating the harmonised classification of 13 substances already listed under Annex VI, and by adding 23 newly harmonised substances to the same Annex.

CLP Annex VIII: what does it bring?

Reg. (UE) 2017/542 defines how the transmission of data regarding hazardous mixtures can be harmonised, making emergency interventions easier. Up until now data transmission has been different in each member state, which caused problems and slow-downs, with many inconveniences for those who place these mixtures in different countries and thus have to follow different procedures.

A public consultation has been opened by the ECHA for one substance not yet classified in Annex VI of the CLP Regulation. ECHA invites all interested parties to provide comments regarding all classes for physical, health and environmental hazards.

CLP update: new corrigendum of December 21st 2016

Corrigendum: what changes in Reg. 1272/2008?

The new corrigendum published on December 21st 2016 on the Official Journal of the European Union (L349) amends 38 texts of H, P and EUH statements. These amendments do not affect the meaning of the phrases, but they enhance the translation of the phrase itself.
