On January 12, 2018, The Chilean Ministry of Health released an amendment to the Resolution 860 approving the Technical Standard No. 191 on Nutritional Guidelines for declaring Healthy Food Properties (Claims). The Resolution 1671 was published in the National Congress Library of Chile and it will enter into force on January 26 of 2018.

New amendments to the “Agreement that determines additives and adjuvants in food, beverages and food supplements, their use and health standards – DOF 16/07/12” were published to the Federal Commission for the Protection against Sanitary Risk (COFEPRIS) website on November 12 and 15 and December 8 of 2017. The additions listed below of new substances and/or functions for existing substances published in these amendments were approved by the Secretary of Health to be use in certain food categories.

On July 26, 2017, Chilean Ministry of Health released a new Resolution approving the Technical Standard No. 191 on Nutritional Guidelines for declaring Healthy Food Properties (claims). The Resolution No. 860 was published in the National Congress Library of Chile, the new Standard on claims being its integral part.

Peru Suspends Import of Animals and Products from Colombia due to FMD

A new Directorial Resolution released by the Peruvian Ministry of Agriculture and Irrigation was published in the Official Gazette “El Peruano” on June 27, 2017 listing the animal species and products of animal origin that will be suspended for the import to Peru from Colombia for a period of 180 days.
