On September 27, 2016, NHFPC (National Health and Family Planning Commission of the PRC) published draft version of 15 national food safety standards and asked for public comments.

Interested stakeholders can submit their comments online, by logging into the national food safety standards management information system (in Chinese). The deadline for submitting public comments was Nov. 25, 2016.

What food standards are included?

The proposed new standards include 4 food product standards, 1 sanitizer product standard, 1 food contact material standard, 3 food additive product standards and 6 food nutrient supplement standards.

The 15 national food safety standards are listed here:

1. National food safety standard, Lactose.

2. National food safety standard, Compound condiment.

3. National food safety standard, Honey.

4. National food safety standard, Collagen peptide.

5. National food safety standard, Sanitizer.

6. National food safety standard, Food contact material, Bamboo, wood, soft wood and their products.

7. National food safety standard, Food additive, Polyoxypropylene glycerol ether(GP).

8. National food safety standard, Food additive, Polyoxypropylene oxyethylene glycolether(GPE).

9. National food safety standard, Food additive, Ice structuring protein.

10. National food safety standard, Food nutrient supplement, Casein calcium peptide.

11. National food safety standard, Food nutrient supplement, Choline chloride.

12. National food safety standard, Food nutrient supplement, Potassium gluconate.

13. National food safety standard, Food nutrient supplement, Ferric citrate.

14. National food safety standard, Food nutrient supplement, Ferrous succinate.

15. National food safety standard, Food nutrient supplement, Algae iodate.
