The European Commission has published a new legislative act, introducing new MRL for the hydrocortisone aceponate, a corticosteroid used in veterinary medicine for the treatment of food producing animals.

The EMA (European Medicines Agency) has recommended the establishment of an MRL for hydrocortisone aceponate in milk and restricted its use to intramammary use only.

The new act is Commission implementing Regulation (EU) 2016/1444 of August 31, 2016 amending Regulation (EU) No 37/2010 as regards the substance hydrocortisone aceponate.

This regulation will apply from October 31, 2016.

Updates on maximum residue levels allowed for veterinary drugs residues and on permitted migration limits for food contact materials can be found in RegData®, our global food legislation library.
