On January 15, 2019, requirements under “The Safe Food for Canadians Regulations (SFCR)“ came into force for import/export food businesses, including inter-provincial businesses, to obtain a safer food system.
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) focused on regulating the following aspects:
- Licensing, preventive control and traceability of imported and exported food;
- Introducing the toolkit and My CFIA, a new secure login system for businesses.
