EU – Japan Free Trade Agreement

The EU has finalized negotiations for a trade agreement with Japan. EU firms already export over €58bn in goods and €28bn in services to Japan every year. But European firms face trade barriers when exporting to Japan which make it hard for them to compete.

New European Union Organic Regulation

CETA – Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement: What does it mean for the food industry?

On September 21, 2017, CETA, a new trade agreement between the EU and Canada, entered into force provisionally. As such, most of the agreement now applies. The part that still doesn’t apply is the investment protection and the Investor Court System (ICS). National parliaments in EU countries – and in some cases regional ones too (Wallonia for example) – will then need to approve CETA before it can take full effect.
