On January 4, 2017, two draft guidance documents were issued by the FDA (not for implementation at this time). Industry has 60 days to provide comments before the final documents are issued.
The FDA has addressed several questions pertaining to rounding, added sugars (including calculations) and labeling. In addition, they’ve also provided examples for identification of food categories (in Reference Amounts Customarily Consumed (RACCs) tables) and serving size determination.
